Hmm. So a few questions:
- how long does it take to reach the forest from the city?
- will there be any indicators/hints that there's an item (or that there's something in the forest) if they don't go that deep in? (assuming the forest itself isn't that far out.)
-Will there be monsters in the general area of the forest?

- the forest is right at the outskirts of the city! so basically where city ends, forest begins.
- nope, there are no signs of the crunchy candy surprise in the forest until you get to where you see it. c:
- no monsters in the forest at this time (except for the dragon in the cave). if ya want monsters, they're in the swamp. possibly also the lake, if you get far enough out.

OKAY I'M BACK. What happened to the week.

- So Squall and co might go on an extended trip to the forest. What would they find if they wandered out far enough for those three days? :o

the forest itself is pretty chill, lots of trees and plants and some clearings. once you get about 50 miles out, there's a fence. like so. yes, it's sonic and will kill you dead if you walk through it. there does not appear to be any way to shut it off.

what about for someone that can teleport? since she's been able to get her chip out would she be able to teleport through it? or potentially destroy it with telekinesis?

sorry but no :c attempts at teleporting through or destroying it will just bounce her back and give her a big ol' migraine. (for now - the short explanation is the fence is enchanted with very strong magic. so she could definitely pick up on that bit!)

mrrgh lemme finish that thought - if you can find a way to take down the enchantment, the fence can be destroyed. so the key to that is finding out how to break the magic.

a question! would there be any difference from someone using any other ability and an individual using a magic-disabling spell?

tidus absolutely doesn't have the skill necessary to disable an entire fencing like this, so i'm thinking solely of any effects a spell like that would have on the fence, how the fence would react to it, etc.

hmm i guess it would depend on the ability/spell you have in mind? if you had a character, for example, who used all 12 spell tattoo slots for massive upgrades to a "null/break magic" spell, that would do the trick, but the fence enchantment is extremely strong. otherwise, the fence wouldn't really react. does that make sense?

i believe so! my question wasn't so much about bringing down the fence as tidus wouldn't be capable of that, but if a spell of that nature would cause a similar feedback as it would have with arkady!

so it's more like seeing any effect at all, if just very tiny. unless that would be impossible anyway due to the design of the fence being ... poles.

ahhh ok, i misunderstood. yes, spells would likely produce feedback as well, equal to the force of the spell - so a small spell would be small feedback, a larger one might go more like this:

If Loki were to have his chip disabled, thus lifting all the restrictions on his powers, and that canonly, he's been known to be able to be able to work out how to hide from Heimdall's vision when moving himself and others through passageways between worlds, would it be believable if, given enough time at the fence, he'd be about to work out how to disable the fence's enchantment?

certainly! if/when loki gets his chip out and is told icly about the fence, he'd definitely be powerful enough to disable the enchantment on it. that is definitely an action you can take!

How long would he need to spend at the fence to unravel it? Also, would he be able to use his astral projection to see beyond the fence first?

no on the astral projection, and for a fully powered loki i’d say he can undo the enchantment in about half an hour to an hour?

Would it be possible to open a door through the fence without completely disabling it for a guy who used to open doors to other worlds?

What could they expect to find if they open a door and explore beyond the fence? Also, if he held the door open, could someone else astral project through the door?

beyond the fence is a lot of whatever landscape is on the inside of the fence - if accessed through the forest, it would be forest land, if accessed through the foothills, it would be more of the same. wouldn't recommend trying to go through the swamp or lake areas though. about another 50 miles past the fence in the forest area would be a very old paved road in extreme disrepair - potholes, cracks, weeds growing everywhere, etc.

and yes, someone else could astral project through the door if it's held open for them!

A THING I FORGOT - there are definitely some abandoned houses out in the forest. so it looks like people used to live there, but they don't anymore. they're all pretty broken down and in bad shape.
